LEVEL 3: At this point , the dancers should be mastering their technique in their turnout, correct foot placement, and body alignment. In Level 3, they will be mastering turns, leaps, and a combination of steps, while continuing their basics at the barre'.
LEVEL 4-5: At the current time we offer Levels 4-5 combined. Dancers in this level need to have had at least 3 years of serious ballet training. Dancers are expected to be performing their dance steps with correct technique, while continuing to advance their steps. Ex: more, faster, higher.
PRE-POINT/POINTE: DVDA is very conservative in our Pointe program. WE WILL NOT PUT A DANCER ON POINTE BEFORE THE AGE OF 11! Before that age, bone growth, and devolopment could be affected.
Dancers 9 and up, with at least 3 years of serious ballet training may start our Pre-Pointe program to strengthen their ankles and legs in preparation for Pointe shoes. Our ballet teachers will notify a dancer and their parents when they feel their dancer is ready for Pointe Shoes. Our teachers will also do their best to accompany the dancer when they get their Pointe shoes, to help with the correct fitting of shoes.
Dancers on Pointe, new to our studio must be evaluated by our ballet teachers before attending Pointe classes.
